By installing, activating, or using Marlowe, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.
Marlowe is a personal assistant that reads your email to infer tasks and helps you manage them. It runs as a desktop application for macOS and as a companion app for iPhone.
The Mac application connects to your Gmail or Outlook account, reads your mail, and identifies work that needs doing. It uses the Anthropic API for classification, the OpenAI API to make your archive searchable, and ElevenLabs for spoken reminders. Your task data is stored on your device and synced to Marlowe's servers so that your other devices can read it.
The iPhone app displays and edits that task list. It does not access your email.
Marlowe is under active development. Features may change or be removed, and behaviour may change between releases. This does not affect your right to cancel or to request a refund as described below.
Marlowe is a paid subscription service, billed monthly at the current listed price. By activating a licence you authorise recurring monthly charges to your payment method until you cancel. Subscriptions are purchased and managed outside the iPhone app.
Free trial. New subscribers receive a free trial period as indicated at checkout. Your payment method will be charged automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial period ends.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from the Manage Subscription option in the Mac application, or by contacting founder@withmarlowe.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until that date.
Refunds. If you experience a technical issue that prevents Marlowe from functioning and we are unable to resolve it within a reasonable time, contact founder@withmarlowe.app to request a refund. Refunds are evaluated case by case. We do not offer refunds solely because a feature did not meet your expectations, or because you chose not to use the app during a billing period.
Price changes. We may change the subscription price with at least 30 days notice. Continued use after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Marlowe is licensed, not sold. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Marlowe on a limited number of devices, as indicated at activation. Your Mac and your iPhone each count as a device. You may not:
Marlowe may deactivate a licence found to be in violation of these terms.
The iPhone app requires an existing Marlowe subscription. It is not sold separately and does not offer purchases.
You sign in with the email address on your Marlowe account, which receives a single-use link valid for 15 minutes. You are responsible for maintaining control of that email account, since access to it is sufficient to sign in to Marlowe.
If you enable notifications, reminders are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service and may include task text.
You are responsible for:
Marlowe syncs your task data to a secure server so that your devices share one task list. By using Marlowe you consent to this sync. Exactly what is stored, where, and for how long is described in the Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of your task data at all times.
Both the Mac application and the iPhone app include a "Delete my Marlowe data" control, which immediately removes your server-side data and signs out every device. Deleting your data does not cancel your subscription.
Upon cancellation or account termination, your server-side data is retained for 30 days and then deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time by contacting founder@withmarlowe.app.

Marlowe is provided without warranty of any kind. Tasks inferred from your email may be incomplete or incorrect. Marlowe is a tool to assist you — it is not a substitute for your own judgment about your schedule and commitments. We do not warrant that Marlowe will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular feature will remain available.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Marlowe and its developers shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the application, including missed tasks, lost data, errors in AI-generated content, or interruptions in service.
